Hi, I’m Vanessa
Born in Ibiza. Based in Berlin.
Working between two worlds — Mediterranean warmth and Northern European precision.
I’m an interior architect with a simple obsession: making sure your spatial decisions are the right ones. Before they cost too much to undo.
I’ve worked on projects across Europe — from private residences to small and individual hospitality projects, to Secret Garden Berlin, a forgotten theatre I brought back to life after 80 years.

My architectural approach is rooted in Mediterranean culture, adaptability and deep understanding of place, and the people who inhabit it – shaped through years of international practice.– Vanessa Serra Brunner

The project that started it all.
In 1905, a renowned Berlin master builder designed a variety theatre and ballroom in the heart of Mitte. By 1933 it had fallen silent.
For over 80 years it lay forgotten — until it was rediscovered by chance, buried under rubble and time.
Between 2015 and 2018, I led the interior design of its complete restoration.
A listed building. 1.533 m².
Five floors. A space that now lives again.
Who I work with
The first-time buyer or renovator
You’ve found a property — or finally decided to transform the one you have. It’s probably the biggest financial decision you’ve made so far.
You want to get it right, without wasting money on mistakes that could have been avoided.
The homeowner ready for change
You’ve been living here for years. Your family has grown, your needs have shifted, your taste has evolved. The space no longer fits.
It’s time to rethink — with clarity and a plan, not endless options.
The international client
Buying or renovating in Germany or the Balearic Islands from abroad. You need someone who speaks your language — literally — and knows both the local market and the process from the inside.
Projects can be supported by a trusted network of local advisors — including tax consultants, legal experts and real estate professionals.
The investor, developer & hospitality owner
You make decisions based on potential and real costs, not guesswork.
Whether you’re acquiring a property, developing a project or creating a hospitality space with a strong identity — you need an independent expert eye and spaces that feel considered, not generic.
Someone who understands both design and how people actually live and move through a space.

Press & Writing
A selection of editorial publications featuring residential interior architecture projects, reflecting an approach rooted in context, materiality and long-term architectural value.

„Mit Stilgefühl“ — Schöner Wohnen, July 2022
A two-storey penthouse apartment built atop a listed early 20th-century building in Berlin — formerly home to Fritz Schmidt’s Restaurant und Kolibri Festsäle. The colour concept was drawn from stucco ornaments uncovered during renovation; salvaged bricks from demolition works were integrated into bedroom and hallway walls. A cantilevered steel staircase leads to a rooftop terrace with 360° views over the city. Material palette: exposed concrete, structural steel, solid oak floors, reclaimed brick.

„Un duplex perché“ — Le Journal de la Maison
A family duplex designed above a historic Berlin theatre built in 1905 — forgotten for over eighty years before being fully restored in 2008. The project required adding a contemporary residential floor to a heritage-listed building, including windows over seven metres high. Working alongside restorers and craftsmen, original architectural elements were preserved while introducing raw materials: steel, concrete and oak throughout.
